Atlanta Developer Plans 325 Unit Apartment Community In Lakewood Ranch

An Atlanta based developer is planning a new apartment community in Lakewood Ranch that will bring more than 300 units to the area.

Davis Development has submitted plans to the Southwest Florida Water Management District for a 325 unit apartment complex located off Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. According to site plans, the project will be built on nearly 19 acres.

The development is designed to move forward in five phases, with each phase tied to one of the five residential buildings. The first phase will also include construction of the pool and amenity center. The community will offer a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments.

Representatives for Davis Development were not immediately available for comment.

Property records from Sarasota County show that an entity connected to the developer purchased the land in September for 9.72 million dollars.

Engineering work for the project is being handled by Stantec.

This project would mark the seventh apartment community Davis Development has built in the Tampa Bay region, according to its website. The company already has a presence in Lakewood Ranch, along with properties in Clearwater, Riverview, and Bradenton.

Lakewood Ranch continues to stand out as one of the fastest growing master planned communities in the United States. The area offers a wide range of retail, dining, and recreational options, which continues to attract both residents and new development.

Recent activity in the area highlights that growth. Plans were filed last month for two extended stay hotels, including Candlewood Suites and Hyatt Studios, both expected to rise four stories along Town Center Parkway. In addition, Lennar has proposed a 105 home community, while a New York based developer is planning a 66 unit townhouse project nearby.
